Supporting clients and their families at the end of their life is a gift for doula, Corina Robinson.
While mostly associated with childbirth, doulas like Corina can also help fulfill their clients’ final wishes and enable them to go in their own way.
“When a terminal diagnosis is given it can be a highly stressful time, one which I can help lessen with respect and honour,” Corina said.
Taking care of a Will, the Power of Attorney, being a mediator between family, ticking checklists, and just sitting and listening are some of the ways Corina helps ease her clients’ burdens. It gives her clients the space they need to create those final precious and lasting memories with loved ones.
“It’s natural to be afraid, and it’s okay to not know what to do or how to act,” she said.
“I care until the end, and after, to let my clients story live on.”
