The Bargara coastline is like no other – the azure blue of the ocean waves crashing into the charcoal volcanic rocks. Kilometres of scenic foreshore wind around pockets of sandy alcoves.

One of the best ways to take in the beauty of the coastline is on a bicycle – enjoying the warm sunshine, cooling breeze, local knowledge and spectacular views.

Kristie Nash is the passionate Bargara local behind Bargara Bike Tours – which offers both daytime and sunset tours.

“I am really passionate about what we’ve got here, our little piece of paradise. During the tours we stop at 10 hotspots that allow people to take beautiful photos. It is wonderful to show off to our visitors what we have here,” Kristie said.

Beginning at Archie’s Beach, the day tour travels up to Mon Repos – about a four-hour trip, stopping along the way. The sunset tour is perfect for couples interested in a special or romantic experience.

“My favourite part is stopping and explaining all the little things you wouldn’t generally know when you are on your own without a local expert. Or when we all sit down at the half-way part, enjoy the local refreshments and fresh fruit, and just have a chat together.”

The tours suit all levels of fitness and are a great activity the family can do together. Bargara Bike Tours also offer self-guided tours and bicycle hire.
