Pears and salted caramel are a match made in heaven! This recipe was created by Indulge Cafe Head Chef Mitchell White to showcase fresh ingredients from Olsen’s Corner Foodworks, home to Bundaberg’s freshest produce, best delicatessen and gourmet food section.   • 2 pears
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup cream
  • 100g salted butter
  • Pinch of salt


  • Cut a small slice from the base of the pear so that it sits flat. Use an apple corer or a sharp, small knife to deseed the pear from the bottom.
  • Brush the pear with a small amount of butter and bake for 30 minutes or until cooked

Salted Caramel Sauce

  • Put the remaining butter, sugar and cream in a saucepan and bring to a simmer until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add salt to your taste

Serve with the salted caramel drizzled over the pears and a side of ice cream.
